In English, this means a full spinal brace (in the case
of a TLSO)-- the only thing missing is the cervical section. T.L.S.O.'s are
normally used to treat injuries of the upper and mid thoracic (back) region of
the spine. There are many variations of this brace but they usually consists of
some sort of body brace, either manufactured out of aluminum, steel or a custom
molded plastic body jacket. Most of these braces can be made into a CTLSO
(Cervicothoracic Lumbosacral Orthosis) with the addition of a cervical
extension (usually a SOMI, 2-Poster or 4-Poster) attached to the top portion of
the TLSO. T.L.S.O. are also not easy to come by but there are a lot of them out there since most are now prefabed by a number of manufactures. Most all orthopedic supply shops carry a few models but you will need a prescription to buy one or have a good contact.
