A SOMI Brace is one of the most popular cervical neck braces used today when rigid immobilization is required. This is also one of our faviorites here at NBAK. "SOMI" stands for Sternal Occipital Mandibular Immobilizer, and thats exactly what it does, immobilizes. The SOMI consists of a "Y" shapped chest piece, a head piece and a chin piece and is made entirely out of aluminum and stainless steel.

SOMI's are not easy to purchase, however, there are quite a few out there since they are so widely used. A good place to look for this type of brace is on E-Bay, thrift stores or 2nd hand store. Also keep checking the ad board on this site or some of the other sites listed in the links section of NBAK.
